Meet Our Chef

Being one of the founders, our Chef takes care of the cuisine since the beginning.
He discovered its passion for cooking when he was 14 years old and started his training at Spermalie, a reknown hotel and tourism school in Brugge. He finished its apprenticeship at CEFA Ixelles in Brussels. After his traineeship, Emiel had the opportunity to meet and work for its mentor at Le Tournant, Michel de H. former starred Chef.
Later, he occupied different  positions as Chef de Partie, Sous Chef and Chef in some Brasseries, gourmet restaurant and lately Van der Valk 4-star Hotel.
Its curiosity and eagerness to learn drove him to experience different cuisines such as world food, fish speciality, French and Italian gastronomy. 
Our Chef's vision is to transform the primal need to feed into a real pleasure.
​From a simple meal, he wants to create a delight for the eyes and the taste buds thanks to its creative revisits.

Discover the CEO

The other founder of Pick Eat followed its cursus at Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management. First, he obtained his bachelor degree in economics and then graduated 2 years later in Management science with a specialisation in Entrepreneurship.
His passion for cookery started years ago and never faded to the point he included it in its Master thesis.
This young and dynamic entrepreneur is always looking for new challenges to be taken up. ​
​Pick Eat was obviously the best combination for him to combine its entrepreneurial spirit with its passion for cookery.

OUR STORY

​The story started thanks to the shared passion for cookery of 2 brothers. The one, Chef for more than 10 years and the other graduated from the SBS-EM and gourmet.
The first idea was to change people's perception of 'fast food' and let everyone experience a balanced and fresh lunch. From there,  Pick Eat was born as a salad bar offering a wide range of salads, wraps, quiches, soups, and everything included by the dynamic wave of eating healthy, such as raw juices and fruit salads. 
The research of producers led us to meet the founders of Belgomarkt - the 100% Belgian supermarket - sharing similar values to ours. Belgomarkt gave us the opportunity to launch our facility and Pick Eat's salad bar opened at the front of the supermarket located close to the European Commission.

The salad bar had a resounding success and people's word of mouth fostered even further the reputation. Some clients started to ask for an event service and we launched simultaneously a catering department. For one year, the demand for this department surged to the point that a decision to invest further arose.
Meanwhile, a robbery at the facility dampened our enthusiasm. The reinvestment made compulsory to choose between our salad bar and our catering service.
After a closure period of 2 months in order to ponder the question, we made our decision.  We were happy to announce the reopening of Pick Eat as a 100% catering company.
